Headbands

In an attempt to feel closer to my girl who feels so far away, I've been wearing her headbands as bracelets.

It makes me feel a little better. And then a little worse. And then a little better again. It's not her. But it's something of hers I can have with me all the time. It's my way to bring her with me.

  1. Hi there ~ I just wanted to let you know that we know several people in common. Some go to your church and I think one works with you.

I think that wearing Lydia's headbands is a marvelous idea. I have a couple of necklaces that I wear that have Amelia's name on them. But my favorite is a locket that a friend had engraved for me. I keep a small lock of Amelia's hair in it. I still look at her hair and sometimes feel so far away from her. It seems like a lifetime ago that she was here, but the grief is just as fresh as the day she died.

This is such a painful road, and with Christmas here ~ well, I certainly don't feel much like 'celebrating.' I hope that you are getting through this season more gracefully.

If you ever want to talk or meet for coffee (trying not to sound too forward) just email me at sdyer37@gmail.com. I would love to have someone in real life (not just online) who 'Get's it' like I do.

  2. I love this idea...What a wonderful way to keep your precious girl close! I also love your last post about the "timely gift"...It's amazing how God always comes through with a blessing at just the time we need it, isn't it?

  3. Hi Jen, I just wanted to stop by and let you know I have been thinking about you so much lately. I have been away from the computer for personal reasons, and I just wanted you to know I am still here for you and praying for you everyday. I love that you are wearing Lydia's headbands. That is such a precious way to remember her and have her with you:) I am glad you decided to put up a tree and decorate a bit for the holidays. The ladybug ornament is beautiful! I hope you had a peaceful Christmas and New Years. Love you<3
